60th ANNIVERSARY RECEPTION 1953 – 2013
On October 14 and 15, The Arc of Sedgwick County’s members, special guests, friends and families will join together at several activities to celebrate the vision and passion of its founders and to highlight its accomplishments. The Arc of Sedgwick County is one of over 700 chapters chartered with The Arc of the United Sates, and its CEO, Peter Berns, will be here to participate in these activities and share his vision from a national perspective.
An evening reception on Monday, October 14, will include an unveiling of The Arc’s 60 year history with a visual timeline and the recognition of its founding families along with the inaugural entries into The Arc’s Wall of Honor. A luncheon that same day will bring together the eight chapters of The Arc that are serving Kansans.
Tuesday, October 15, events will include a luncheon with nonprofit leaders, The Arc’s Circle of Friends Halloween party, and an evening dance and celebration for members and special guests.

SHINE and THE Arc’s LIGHTS ON ST PAUL
On Thanksgiving Day 2013, we kick off the 17th annual The Arc’s Lights on St. Paul, a holiday extravaganza of more than one million lights that is open nightly from Thanksgiving through December 29. You won’t want to miss the amazing new display! Your donations at The Lights and for the Shine Campaign support hundreds of programs that benefit individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities of all ages. In advance we want to say “Thank You!” to the hundreds of volunteers giving thousands of hours to make this event happen each year. to the sponsors who support the event and our mission and to the 100,000 visitors to the Lights.
